QR Codes - How very modern

Display journal cover with QR code
Before I got myself a smartphone last year I didn't really know what a QR code was. I'd seen them around of course, mostly on adverts. But it didn't dawn on me that the black and white square that looked like our old TV when it lost reception, was a way of getting to a web page.

Now, I love QR codes. At the beginning of the year we decided that we'd start utilising them and give our image a more modern, hip and with it look.
We put QR codes for the Athens SWICE page and the SWIMS catalogue page on our leaflets. I also thought it'd be a good idea to publicise our locally purchased online journals, using the SWICE page QR code.

Sponsorship flier with QR code to online donation page
I've also used QR codes for raising sponsorship money for a charity walk I organised in August. I created a QR code for my online donation page and put it on a flier, hoping to get people do donate while they're out about.

Not sure that they've had any sort of impact but I think there's nothing wrong with giving people choice, and looking like you know what you're doing at the same time.
